Our Homeschool Shedule

When I tell people we homeschool they are always curious about what exactly we do all day. And families that are considering homeschooling are always looking for ideas and examples of how other families structure their days, so I thought I would share our schedule.

I have one child, a 10 year old boy, and we are currently using the following curriculum:

Sonlgiht Core D - history, readers and read alouds
Apologia - Zoology 2 (we do this with a live online class through Currclick)
Shurley English 5
Teaching Textbooks 5
IEW Fun and Fasinating
Wordly Wise 4
Trail Guide to US Geography
Live Classes from Currclick
Engineering 4 Kids Robotics and Homeschool Engineering Club

Monday
This is co-op day, so we usually just finish up any homework we have for co-op classes before it starts at 12:30. In fall CJ had LEGO We-Do, Photography and Native Americans. This semester he takes US History Revolution through Lewis and Clark, Newspaper/Yearbook and Gemstones and Minerals.

Tuesday
We have Engineering 4 Kids Homeschool Engineering Club from 10:00 - 11:30. After lunch we  work on homework for our co-op history class, Sonlight history, readers and read alouds and math. If we have time we also do english. We have a live class with Currclick at 3:00 for Zoology.

Wednesday
We are home all day on Wednesdays with just a live Currclick class at 1:00 so we can usually get a lot of book work done on Wednesdays. We normally start the day working on any homework we have for co-op history and our Sonlight history, readers and read alouds. If it is nice outside, we love to sit outside and do our school work! We will do IEW then it's usually lunch time! After about a 45 minute to an hour lunch break, we will have Shurley English, cursive, vocabulary and Trail Guide. We squeeze our Currclick class in at 1:00. Then last is math. We are usually done between 2:00 and 3:00.

Thursday
This is usually another full day of book work for us. It is Robotics class day, but that is in the evening. We will basically follow the same schedule as Wednesday except in the afternoon we will not do cursive or vocabulary today and instead of book work for Trail Guide we try to cook something or make a drink or snack that goes with the state we are working on.

Friday
This is generally a lighter day for us. We follow Sonlight on a 4 day schedule so no history or read alouds for us today. We may work on homework for co-op if we need to and he will read his reader from Sonlight. We will do writing and english. After lunch we do our dictation, then work on electives again; cursive, vocabulary and Trail Guide. And as usual, since it is CJ least favorite thing, math is last.

What is your schedule like?
